Privacy

RecallCheck is designed to work without user accounts, advertising trackers, analytics, cookies, or persistent scan history.

Camera and barcode scanning

Camera frames used to scan a barcode stay on your device and are not uploaded by RecallCheck. A scanned or manually entered barcode may be sent to Open Food Facts to identify the product, then compared in the browser with RecallCheck's locally served FDA and USDA recall dataset.

What RecallCheck stores

RecallCheck does not permanently store your barcode checks or package codes. Session history exists only in JavaScript memory and disappears when the page is reloaded or the session ends. Barcodes and package codes are not placed in the page URL.

Feedback

Feedback is currently disabled unless a feedback destination is explicitly configured. The application is designed to exclude product and package identifiers from optional feedback payloads.

Third-party services

Product identification may use Open Food Facts, and official recall links may take you to FDA or USDA websites. Those services have their own privacy practices.
